TOP 1: 1991 NAZCA M12 – OVER $3,000,000

The Nazca M12 is a concept sports car presented in 1991. That same year, BMW introduced the Nazca C2, which was supposed to be the version that will go into production. The manufacturer soon pulled the plug on this project, however, so only a handful of C2s was ever produced and sold. The Nazca M12 is even rarer: rumor has it that only three units of the original Giorgetto Giugiaro design were ever made.

In 2011, a dealer in the Czech Republic put one of the concept models for the M12 on sale for $1.1 million, making it the most expensive BMW in the market of all time.

TOP 2: 2015 3.0L CSL HOMMAGE CONCEPT – $1,500,000

Like all previous Hommage vehicles, the CSL Hommage Concept was a tribute to a classic model: the CSL from the 1970s which enthusiasts dubbed as the “Batmobile.” The full-size two-seater in a prominent canary-yellow shade has a striking, futuristic exterior but all-retro interior.

Although BMW fans are clamoring for a market release, the company unfortunately stated that the 3.0L CSL Hommage is “purely a concept” and will not go into production. Representatives add that the concept is a “design exercise” whose stylistic elements are unlikely to appear in future BMWs.

TOP 3: 1990 M8 E31 – $1,000,000

If we are to go by rarity as the basis for value, the 1990 BMW M8 may well be at the top of this list. The M8 is another concept that never went into production because the BMW management did not think it feasible. Only one prototype was ever produced, although reports say that there are three E31 engines in existence.

The appearance of the M8 E31 is a little retro, but the central bulge on its hood keeps it from being an entirely “old design.” Had it gone into production, experts estimate its retail price to be over $600,000.

TOP 4: 2000 X5 LE MANS – $1,000,000

TThe X5 Le Mans was well on its way to production, but the early audience response was not that enthusiastic. The model’s exterior is basic and looks like your average SUV. Its real value, however, rests in its engine. It has a massive, 700-horsepower V12 engine that can rev up to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds. Its builders configured its engines and electricals to reach a top speed of 193mph.

The X5 Le Mans can give other sports cars a run for their money — a pleasant surprise given that this model is considered an SUV.

TOP 5: 2011 G-POWER X6 M TYPHOON S – $800,000

Of all the models in this list, the X6 is the only one that went into production. Moreover, it was highly in demand since it was first released in 2011. The G-Power X6 M Typhoon S is widely regarded as one of the world’s most powerful cars with its 555-horsepower V8 engine that can go up to 725. It can also accelerate 0-to-60 in an impressive 4.2 seconds.

With its pleasing appearance, impressive engine, and high market demand, it would be more accurate to list the Typhoon S’s price at $1,000,000.
